Governance

The Regulatory Organizations of Architecture in Canada (ROAC) designates members of the Committee for the Examination for Architects in Canada (CExAC) to oversee and maintain the Examination for Architects in Canada (ExAC) on it’s behalf. The CExAC is comprised of regional representatives, appointed by their respective Council(s), from Atlantic Canada (AANB, AAPEI, ALBNL, NSAA), Quebec (OAQ), Ontario (OAA), Prairies/Northwest Territories (MAA, NWTAA, SAA), Alberta (AAA), and British Columbia (AIBC):

  • Atlantic Canada – Stephen Terauds (Chair)
  • Quebec – Isabelle Beauchamp
  • Ontario – Jeff Laberge
  • Prairies/Northwest Territories – Celeste MacKay
  • Alberta – Christopher Babits
  • British Columbia – Greg Johnson

The Chair of the CExAC is appointed by the members.

The Committee meets at least twice a year to organize the updating of the exam objectives and the bank of questions and ensure the required quality control. If need be, it may also meet to review incident reports, requests for score reviews or any other situation related to the administration of the ExAC.

Coordination of the CExAC, and its secretariat, are provided jointly by the OAA and the OAQ, each of which has designated at least one member of their permanent staff.
